By accessing or using DocsToAudio (docstoaudio.online), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. "Service" refers to the website and all functionality provided at docstoaudio.online.
DocsToAudio is a free, browser-based tool that converts EPUB, PDF, DOCX, and TXT documents into audio files using third-party speech synthesis technologies. No account registration is required. Document parsing occurs entirely in your browser; the text content of each chapter is transmitted to our server and then to third-party speech synthesis providers solely for the purpose of generating audio.
DocsToAudio is provided as an experimental and evolving service. The service may contain errors, interruptions, limitations, or changes in functionality. We may impose usage limits, restrict access, change providers, or discontinue the service at any time, especially where necessary to maintain service stability, comply with legal requirements, or address third-party service limitations.
DocsToAudio uses third-party speech synthesis technologies to convert submitted text into audio. These third-party services are not owned or controlled by DocsToAudio.
The availability, performance, voice quality, supported languages, rate limits, and permitted uses of the text-to-speech functionality depend on third-party providers and may change, be limited, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice. DocsToAudio does not guarantee that any specific voice, language, feature, or provider will remain available. We may modify, replace, suspend, or discontinue any speech provider or voice option at any time.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the generated audio complies with applicable laws, copyright rules, platform policies, and any relevant third-party terms. DocsToAudio does not grant you any rights in third-party voices, speech technologies, or services beyond the limited ability to use the service as provided through the website.
You may only use DocsToAudio to convert content that you own, have purchased for personal use, or have explicit permission to convert. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to process any document you submit.
You should not use DocsToAudio to process highly sensitive, confidential, regulated, or legally privileged information, including medical records, financial account information, passwords, government identifiers, trade secrets, confidential business documents, or private information about other people. The service is not designed or secured for such content.
You agree not to:
You retain all rights to the content you submit. We do not claim ownership of your documents or the audio files generated from them. You are solely responsible for any legal claims arising from the content you process.
Subject to your rights in the input content and applicable law, you may use the generated audio for personal or internal purposes. If you use generated audio for commercial, public, or platform distribution purposes, you are solely responsible for ensuring that you have all necessary rights and that your use complies with copyright laws, platform rules, and applicable third-party service terms.
DocsToAudio does not guarantee that generated audio is suitable for commercial use, public distribution, monetization, or any specific legal or platform requirement.
Audio generated by DocsToAudio is synthetic text-to-speech audio produced by automated systems. You are responsible for disclosing the synthetic nature of the audio where required by applicable law, platform rules, or other applicable policies.
We may introduce fair use limits, rate limits, file size limits, text length limits, or other restrictions at any time to protect service stability, prevent abuse, control costs, or comply with legal or third-party service requirements.
The DocsToAudio website, its design, branding, and code are the property of DocsToAudio. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of the site without written permission.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that audio output will meet your expectations. The underlying text-to-speech functionality is provided by third parties and may be subject to availability constraints outside our control.
DocsToAudio is provided free of charge. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DocsToAudio accepts no liability for any loss or damage — whether direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of audio output, or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by gross negligence, where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country or region of residence.
DocsToAudio does not publicly host user-uploaded documents or generated audio as part of its standard service. As a result, we may not be able to remove content that is not stored or publicly displayed on our service.
However, if you believe the service is being used in a way that infringes your copyright, you may contact us at support@docstoaudio.online with relevant details. We will review reasonable copyright complaints and may restrict, suspend, or block abusive use of the service where appropriate.
We may introduce premium paid features or subscription plans in the future. Any paid services will be governed by additional terms presented at the time of purchase. Use of the free tier will not be affected by the introduction of paid features.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without prior notice. We may restrict access to users who violate these terms or who submit abusive or automated requests.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects any changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
