2.1 Usage and Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This may include your IP address (anonymised), browser type, device type, country, pages visited, and session duration. 2.2 Text Content for Audio Conversion

When you convert a document to audio, the document file is parsed entirely in your browser where technically possible. To generate audio, the selected text content of each chapter is sent to our server and then transmitted to third-party speech synthesis providers for the sole purpose of generating the requested audio. Our speech synthesis providers may include Microsoft or other third-party providers.

We do not use your submitted text to train AI models. We do not intentionally store your uploaded documents or generated audio. However, limited technical logs may be temporarily processed by our hosting provider or service providers for security, debugging, abuse prevention, and service operation.

2.3 Cookies

We use cookies set by Google Analytics (_ga, _gid, and related cookies) to distinguish users and sessions. These cookies are only set after you accept cookies via the consent banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies or via your browser settings.

2.4 Support Communications

If you contact us by email, we will retain that correspondence as long as necessary to respond to your request and maintain a record of the communication.

2.5 Information We Do Not Collect

DocsToAudio requires no account registration. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifying information unless you contact us directly.

DocsToAudio is not designed for processing highly sensitive, confidential, regulated, or legally privileged information. Please do not upload or convert medical records, financial account information, passwords, government identifiers, trade secrets, confidential business documents, or private information about other people.

• Analytics data — to understand usage patterns and improve the service, based on your consent.
• Text content — solely to generate the requested audio output. It is not used for training, advertising, or any other purpose.
• Server logs — to maintain, secure, and operate the service, based on our legitimate interests.
• Support emails — to respond to your request, as necessary to fulfil that communication.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under GDPR / UK GDPR:

• Submitted text content — processed as necessary to provide the text-to-speech conversion service you requested (performance of a service).
• Analytics and cookies — processed based on your consent, given through the cookie banner.
• Server logs and security data — processed based on our legitimate interests in maintaining, securing, and improving the service.
• Support emails — processed as necessary to respond to your request.

We share data with the following third parties as part of operating the service:

• Google Analytics (Google LLC) — receives anonymised usage data after consent is given. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Third-party speech synthesis providers (which may include Microsoft and others) — receive the text you submit for audio conversion. See the relevant provider's privacy policy for details on their data handling.

We do not sell your data to any third party.

DocsToAudio uses service providers including Vercel, Google, and third-party speech synthesis providers. Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards provided by our service providers or other lawful transfer mechanisms to protect your data during international transfers.

We do not intentionally store uploaded documents or generated audio as part of the standard conversion process. Submitted text is processed only as necessary to generate the requested audio.

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings. Limited technical logs held by Vercel are subject to Vercel's retention policy. Support emails may be retained as long as necessary to respond to your request and maintain records of the communication.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain privacy rights regarding your personal information, including:
