By accessing or using DocsToAudio (docstoaudio.online), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. "Service" refers to the website and all functionality provided at docstoaudio.online.
DocsToAudio converts EPUB, PDF, DOCX, and TXT documents into audio files using third-party speech synthesis technologies. The service is offered in two tiers:
Signed-in users who meet the eligibility requirements of the selected voice-cloning provider may also purchase a limited voice-cloning slot, submit an authorized voice sample, and use the resulting cloned voice for eligible conversions, subject to these Terms, the terms disclosed before creation, and the provider-specific rules below.
DocsToAudio is provided as an experimental and evolving service. The service may contain errors, interruptions, limitations, or changes in functionality. We may impose usage limits, restrict access, change providers, or discontinue the service at any time, especially where necessary to maintain service stability, comply with legal requirements, or address third-party service limitations.
DocsToAudio uses third-party speech synthesis technologies to convert submitted text into audio. These third-party services are not owned or controlled by DocsToAudio. Current providers include Microsoft (Standard tier), ElevenLabs, and Google Gemini (both Premium tier). Additional or alternative providers may be used in the future.
The availability, performance, voice quality, supported languages, rate limits, daily usage quotas, and permitted uses of the text-to-speech functionality depend on third-party providers and may change, be limited, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice. In particular, Gemini voices are subject to daily usage quotas shared across all users; when a quota is reached for a given model, that model will be temporarily unavailable until the quota resets. DocsToAudio does not guarantee that any specific voice, language, feature, or provider will remain available. We may modify, replace, suspend, or discontinue any speech provider or voice option at any time.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the generated audio complies with applicable laws, copyright rules, platform policies, and any relevant third-party terms. DocsToAudio does not grant you any rights in third-party voices, speech technologies, or services beyond the limited ability to use the service as provided through the website.
You may only use DocsToAudio to convert content that you own, have purchased for personal use, or have explicit permission to convert. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to process any document you submit.
You should not use DocsToAudio to process highly sensitive, confidential, regulated, or legally privileged information, including medical records, financial account information, passwords, government identifiers, trade secrets, confidential business documents, or private information about other people. The service is not designed or secured for such content.
You agree not to:
You retain all rights to the content you submit. We do not claim ownership of your documents or the audio files generated from them. You are solely responsible for any legal claims arising from the content you process.
You may use voice cloning only if you satisfy the eligibility and minimum-age requirements of the voice-cloning provider you select. The sample must contain your own voice, or you must have obtained the voice owner's prior, express, informed, and legally valid authorization to upload the sample, create and host a synthetic voice model, and generate audio with it. You must provide any notice and obtain any consent required by applicable privacy, biometric, publicity, personality, employment, copyright, or other law.
By submitting a voice sample, you represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights and permissions and authorize DocsToAudio, its storage providers, and the voice-cloning provider you select to host, copy, analyze, transform, and otherwise process the sample and resulting voice model as needed to provide, secure, moderate, and administer the feature under their applicable terms and policies.
You must not create or use a cloned voice to impersonate another person without authorization; deceive anyone about a speaker's identity or whether audio is synthetic; commit fraud or obtain money, credentials, or confidential information; harass, threaten, sexualize, defame, or otherwise harm a person; evade verification or safety controls; conduct unauthorized robocalling or spam; impersonate political candidates or public officials or conduct prohibited election activity; or violate any prohibited-use policy of the provider you select. We may suspend access, delete voices, preserve relevant records, or cooperate with lawful requests when we reasonably suspect misuse.
Subject to your rights in the input content and applicable law, you may use the generated audio for personal or internal purposes. If you use generated audio for commercial, public, or platform distribution purposes, you are solely responsible for ensuring that you have all necessary rights and that your use complies with copyright laws, platform rules, and applicable third-party service terms.
DocsToAudio does not guarantee that generated audio is suitable for commercial use, public distribution, monetization, or any specific legal or platform requirement.
A cloned voice does not transfer ownership of, or grant rights in, any person's voice, identity, likeness, performance, or other personality rights. You remain responsible for every use and distribution of cloned-voice output, including obtaining any additional permission required for commercial or public use.
Audio generated by DocsToAudio is synthetic text-to-speech audio produced by automated systems. You are responsible for disclosing the synthetic nature of the audio where required by applicable law, platform rules, or other applicable policies.
You must not remove, conceal, or misrepresent a required AI or synthetic-media disclosure, and you must not present cloned-voice audio as an authentic recording of the voice owner when doing so would be deceptive or harmful.
We may introduce fair use limits, rate limits, file size limits, text length limits, or other restrictions at any time to protect service stability, prevent abuse, control costs, or comply with legal or third-party service requirements.
The DocsToAudio website, its design, branding, and code are the property of DocsToAudio. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of the site without written permission.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that audio output will meet your expectations. The underlying text-to-speech functionality is provided by third parties and may be subject to availability constraints outside our control.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DocsToAudio accepts no liability for any loss or damage — whether direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of audio output, loss or deletion of a cloned voice, claims arising from unauthorized voice use, or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by gross negligence, where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country or region of residence.
DocsToAudio does not publicly host user-uploaded documents. Generated audio files are not stored on our servers for Standard tier conversions. For Premium background conversions, generated audio files are stored temporarily on our servers for up to 7 days to allow re-download, and are then automatically and permanently deleted.
If you believe the service is being used in a way that infringes your copyright, you may contact us at support@docstoaudio.online with relevant details. We will review reasonable copyright complaints and may restrict, suspend, or block abusive use of the service where appropriate.
DocsToAudio offers a Premium paid tier in addition to the free Standard tier. Premium features include access to higher-quality AI voices (ElevenLabs and Google Gemini), background conversion, and audio re-download for up to 7 days after generation.
Premium access is credit-based. Credits are purchased from your account page and are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. Credits are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection law. Credits are consumed per conversion based on the AI model selected; the estimated cost is shown before you start converting.
We reserve the right to modify credit pricing, voice availability, or Premium features at any time. Any such changes will be communicated with reasonable notice where practicable. Use of the free Standard tier will not be affected by changes to the Premium tier.
Voice-cloning prices, active-voice limits, eligibility requirements, retention periods, and deletion rules may vary by provider. The applicable provider and material terms will be shown before you confirm creation. Credits charged for a completed voice-creation service are not restored when the voice is later deleted, except where required by applicable law.
Voice creation, similarity, pronunciation, availability, and continued hosting depend on the sample and selected provider. We do not guarantee an exact likeness, suitability for a particular language or purpose, continuous availability, or that a deleted or provider-removed voice can be recovered.
To create or use an ElevenLabs cloned voice, you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority where you live), and you must not submit, clone, or use voice data belonging to anyone under 18.
The current price is 5,000 credits per ElevenLabs cloned voice, with a maximum of two active cloned voices per account. Credits are charged when the voice is successfully created. Creating a voice is a digital service performed immediately at your request; deleting it does not restore or refund the credits charged, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
ElevenLabs cloned-voice capacity is limited and is not permanent storage. You may delete a voice at any time. We may send a warning and automatically delete an ElevenLabs cloned voice after a 7-day grace period if it has not been used in a document conversion for more than 30 days or your account has no valid credits. Resolving the stated condition during the grace period may keep the voice active. Deletion is permanent, removes the voice from DocsToAudio, requests its deletion from ElevenLabs, and may make previously generated content impossible to recreate with the same voice.
Your use of ElevenLabs voice cloning is also subject to the ElevenLabs Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Prohibited Use Policy.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without prior notice. We may restrict access to users who violate these terms or who submit abusive or automated requests.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects any changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
